ASU (Piascledine) in the treatment of osteoarthrosis

Abstract

ASU (Piascledine) is a medical preparation with chondroprotective and anti-inflammatory properties. It contains extracts from avocado and soy beans.

The mixture of medicinal substances is referred to with the abbreviation ASU (from the English "avocado/soybean unsaponifiables"). In in vitro studies, Piascledine has the typical characteristics of a symptomatic slow acting drugs in osteoarthritis (SYSADOA) and a rather interesting anti-inflammatory effects on several levels.

Piascledine is intended for the therapy of symptomatic knee and hip joint osteoarthritis. Its safety and efficacy have been demonstrated in the prospective double blind study ERADIAS.
