Repeated gastrointestinal bleeding

Abstract

This study presents a clinical case of a seventeen years old girl with repeated epizodes of gastrointestinal bleeding. Several gastrointestinal investigation procedures were performed to reveal the source of repeated haemorrhage.

Consecutive diagnostic and therapeutic laparoscopic revision of the abdominal cavity with resection of the affected part of the bowel resulted in surprising diagnostic conclusion: angiodysplasia. Authors discusse angiodysplasia in detail because such vascular laesions belong to extremely rare causes of gastrointestinal haemorrhage in childhood.
