Abstract

The level of aspirations and the setting future sports goals have been the subject of diagnostics and efforts to correct them for a long time. The main aim of this study was to verify TATSO, a new test of aspiration and psychomotor tempo, in field conditions.

The research compared the level of aspirations and the psychomotor tempo between the group of top wild water representatives of the Czech Republic and a file of lower performance wild water canoeists. After testing of the sample of 80 competitors (40 representatives), the hypotheses of higher aspirations of representatives, as well as their faster psychomotor tempo, were confirmed at 1% and 5% level of significance.

The paper presents the principle of performance test TATSO and discusses opportunities of its use and practise. The results showed that test can measure level of aspiration and psychomotor tempo between athletes of different performance.

The conditions of using the test should be further verified.
