Autoantibodies anti-DFS70 are antibodies common in healthy population and infrequent in patients with systemic autoimmune rheumatic diseases (SARD), but they are present in high levels in patients with atopic dermatitis, Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome or alopecia areata. Therefore, anti-DFS70 could be an important marker for distinguishing individuals with SARD, healthly individuals and/or other individuals with other inflammatory diseases.
The aim of this study was determine the prevalence of anti-DFS70 antibodies in blood donors and compare the results with the findings of other authors. Prevalence of anti-DFS70 antibodies in a healthy population is different according to different studies.
Results are between 0-11%. Our results are based on the examination of 430 samples of blood donors, when positivity was found in 1.8% of cases.
