Neuroendoscopy in neonatology

Abstract

Neuroendoscopy is a mini-invasive effective surgical technique with complications and generally very low morbidity and mortality. In neonates and infants, neuroendoscopy is technically demanding and requires a high-quality pediatric instrumentarium.

In some cases, it can not be performed without electromagnetic neuronavigation, as we often move in malformed chambers without the possibility of more fundamental anatomical orientation, especially in the case of multi-compartmental hydrocephalus.
