Fetal magnetic resonance and its use in prenatal diagnostics

Publication at Second Faculty of Medicine |
2017

Abstract

Fetal magnetic resonance imaging (FMR) is currently a complementary method of prenatal diagnostics. FMR is indicated for pregnant patients in the second or third trimester of pregnancy.

In most cases, this is a confirmation and refinement of the finding obtained under screening ultrasonography (UZ). A minor part of the FMR examination is performed due to unfavorable acoustic conditions during the previous ultrasonographic examination.

The following statement aims to clarify the possibilities of FMR in diagnosing some congenital developmental defects and prenatal diseases. For clarity, we divided the messages into parts according to the anatomical areas under investigation.
