Supraventricular tachycardia in childhood and adolescence: Recommendation for action according to the guidelines AWMF register no. 023/022

Abstrakt

Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is the most common symptomatic tachyarrhythmia in children, adolescents and patients with congenital heart disease. In contrast to ventricular tachycardia, SVT is defined by the fact that anatomical structures above the bifurcation of the His bundle play a significant role in the development and maintenance of tachycardia.

SVT is present in GREATER-THAN OR EQUAL TO3 consecutive tachycardia impulses.
