Neurostimulation method (ECT, rTMS, tDCS) in the treatment of depression - continuation and maintenance treatment

Abstract
Depressive disorder is a severe mood disorder that is often associated with recurrent and chronic course. Not only pharmacotherapy but also various neurostimulation methods are used in the treatment of depression.
The goal of the article is to provide brief review of current treatment strategies after the acute neurostimulation treatment of depression. The authors comment continuation and maintenance treatment following the electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS).
