Abstract

Benign prostatic hyperplasia represents the most common urological condition among middle-aged and elderly men. Although diagnosisand treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia belongs to urologist, essential knowledge of pathogenesis, symptomatology and treatmentoptions may facilitate care of these patients.

This article summarises contemporary treatment options with focus on farmacotherapy.
