Abstract
Diseases of the thyroid are the most frequent endocrinopathies in childhood and adolescence. The article starts with a brief review on examination methods in paediatric thyroidology and basic differential diagnostics of laboratory findings.
Afterwards, it is focussed mostly on autoimmune thyroid diseases and the latest global knowledge on therapy of chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis as well as Graves-Basedow thyrotoxicosis.
