Collaboration of pediatrician and child psychiatrist in early identification of autism spectrum disorders

Abstract

Identification of impaired child's development symptoms through screening and diagnostics of autism spectrum disorders moves to at ever younger ages. Pediatricians become key actors for the early identification of autistic symptoms, for arranging a diagnostic process, and for focusing on educational and pedagogical interventions at the earliest possible age of the child.

Providing high-quality evidence-based information on autistic spectrum disorders to a broad medical community, especially pediatricians, is the current task of experts in diagnostics and working with people with autistic spectrum disorders. This paper is a contribution to improving the identification of early symptoms, screening and early diagnostics of autism spectrum disorders.
