Abstract
In recent years, the cervical cancer screening programmes have been undergoing significant changes in many regions. The HPV testing screening programmes are now preferred over the cytology-based screening programmes with regard to current knowledge of etiopathogenesis of cervical cancer.
The possibility of HPV vaccination is of significant importance in cervical cancer incidence. The article briefly summarise the issues concerning both screening types and the current state in the Czech Republic.
