Abstrakt
The notion of similarity has been predominantly discussed in the context of debates on scientific representation. In this talk, I attempt to do two things.
First, I analyze the role similarity may play in certain instances of choosing a particular tool for representational purposes. Second, I discuss further roles similarity judgments play in scientific practice.
I argue that more attention should be paid to analyzing these various roles which is something that has been neglected.
