The quality of life in patients with haemophilia

Abstract

Haemophilia is an inherited bleeding disorder historically associated with pain after hemarthros, emotional distress, the quality of life impairment. However, the quality of the life has been significantly changed after the availability of concentrate coagulation factors after 1990.

It is due to the introduction of home therapy and nowadays also due to the regular prophylactic administration of concentrates. It result in normal life-expectancy and comparable quality of life with normal population.

They can live full-fledged active life not only in privacy, but also in occupation.
