Abstract

Exact assessment of the extent of the viable tumor can be complicated in the posttherapeuticaly altered liver tissue and the small areas of viable tumor tissue can be overlooked. The fact that primary and secondary liver tumors are supplied by branches of the liver artery is crucial to their diagnosis.

AEF maps separate arterial enhancement and thus simplify the diagnosis of vital tumor tissue. Our results confirm that use of AEF maps increases the detection accurancy of vital tumor tissue and reduces variability between evaluators.

Most beneficial seems to be for low experienced radiologist.
