Abstract
Our article discusses the most common microvascularr complication of diabetes mellitus - diabetic retinopathy. the main topics are up to date opinions on patophysiology and diagnostics. We mention the current trends in treatment and prevention of the disease.
Emphasis is placed interdisciplinary collaboration and mutual communication.
