We report on the application of the new fixed angle NCB(R) implant, in treatment of periprosthetic femoral fractures. The NCB(R) splint combines conventional splinting technique with polyaxial placement of screws and angular stability.
In our group there was only one fatigue breakage of the splint. We describe the technical details and the possibilities for use of the NCB(R) splint.
This implant provides promising results, particularly in elderly patients with osteoporosis.
