While the quality of life in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis was in recent years the subject of intense research, this issue was in patients with acute rhinosinusitis somewhat neglected. The aim of this paper is to present to the professional community a new tool to measure quality of life in patients with acute rhinosinusitis.
The novel questionnaire was called MARS (Measurement of Acute RhinoSinusitis) and demonstrated in a pilot validation study very good to excellent psychometric properties (internal consistency, discriminant validity, and sensitivity), allowing its use in clinical practice and research.
