Abstract
Multiple sclerosis is a chronic inflammatory demyelinating and neurodegenerative disease of the autoimmune nature affecting the central nervous system. Although the etiology of multiple sclerosis is unclear, the available drugs modify the course of the disease.
Choosing the right medicine for every patient is a complex process. In the Czech Republic, dimethyl fumarate is reimbursed in patients with relapsing RS with signs of adverse prognosis of the disease, despite treatment with at least one first-line drug to develop at least one moderate or severe relapse, or in patients with rapidly progressing severe .
