This paper shows reasons which lead us to considerations about transformations of physics curriculum at Czech lower and upper secondary schools. Except of a subjective ground this paper deals with the first outcomes of a literature review which comprises curriculum and its transformations.
The review is focused on reforms of physics curriculum but attention is also paid to science curriculum and to education at all. This is the first step in effort to design a methodology for a creation of a new physics curriculum (appropriate especially for Czech lower and upper secondary schools) and then use this methodology for this purpose.
