"Feeling of the fence": normativity and in/visibility in modernist housing estates' public space

Abstract

Aritcle focuses on the invisible practices of housing estate inhabitants that should be interpreted as a strategies how to appropriate public spaces in the neghbourhood. I operationalize the theory of territorial production Kärrholm (2012) to analyze the power relations between the offitial institutions and its normativity and the local's strategies of appropriating the space.
