Icons on the front facade of the Orthodox church of Saint Olga in Františkovy Lázně

Abstract

The paper is focused on the Orthodox church of Saint Olga in Františkovy Lázně, which was built between 1887 and 1889. It is the oldest Orthodox church in the Czech Republic.

The article deals with painted icons situated on the front facade of the building. These icons have been renovated at the end of year 2017.

They depict Christ the Pantocrator, Saint Olga and Saint Vladimír. The text is focused on iconography of these paintings, on their provenience, visual prototypes and analogies.
