Qual der Wahl, or spoiled for choice? English and German as the subject of decision-making processes in the Czech Republic

Abstrakt

The chapter deals with the position of English and German in the Czech Republic. It concentrates on two research questions 1) What do the decision-making processes regarding the choice of foreign languages look like? 2) To what extent are economic concerns considered to be the decisive factor in the process of choosing a foreign language? A part of the chapter analyzes the media discourse on English and German.
