The text deals with the development of co-production and co-operation between Czechoslovak and Polish television in the years 1953-1989 with an emphasis on the genre of television drama. The cooperation between ČST and Poland was the liveliest and the most exemplary before the shift towards the Western co-productions and it's concrete projects helping discover obstacles which prevented wider development of co-productions with socialist countries.
In the specific case of Czechoslovakia, they remained completely in the shadow of the pragmatic cooperation with Western partners. The focus of the text is mainly on the conditions of the two largest co-production projects - the series Duhový luk and Dlouhá bílá stopa, which was not rebroacasted after the fall of socialist regimes.
