Václav Majer and his political career in Louny District during the First Czechoslovak Republic

Abstract

In my paper I focus on the early period of the public work of Václav Majer. Majer, a social democrat, had started his political career in the early twenties in Louny District.

In the course of time, he became a leading political figure of the Czechoslovak Social Democracy in Louny and became the head of the party in the town. He discharged his function till his departure to Prague in the mid thirties.
