The paper analyzes stereotypical images of Indigenous peoples of North America, with special focus on Canadian Indigenous population, displayed in Czech media and culture. Based on the theory of stereotypes of Indigenous people developed by Thomas King, it examines newspaper articles, press releases, interviews and other sources dealing with North American Indigenous population and shows the way the language of Czech media and personalities active and influential in culture is rooted in those stereotypes.

Therefore, it argues that Czech media and culture tend to perpetuate stereotypical images of Indigenous people rather than question and undermine them, despite the overall rather supportive attitude of Czech people towards First Nations and Native Americans.
