The main aim of the thesis is to find relations between somatic indicators and parameters of physical composition in 8-11 years old children from Prague. The study consisted of 117 boys and 105 girls who underwent body composition measurements using a bioimpedance device BIA 2000 M, the following parameters were body fat, ECM/BCM, FFM, and total body water (TBW).

From somatic indicators we evaluated body height, body weight and body mass index (BMI). The results of the study showed a positive correlation of the body weight to body composition parameters (body fat - boys 0.73, girls 0.88 and FFM - boy 0.99, girls 0.98, negative correlation with total body water (TBW) of boys (-0.68) and the negative relation in the group of girls (-0.84), we confirmed the positive correlation with the ECM/BCM coefficient 0.24, a negative significant correlation (-0.28) with total body water (TBW) and a positive relationship with a body fat content of 0.18 and a quantity of free fat (FFM) of 0.79.

In a group of girls, the results showed a positive correlation between the body height indicator and the amount of body fat 0, 49, ECM/BCM 0.08, FFM 0.78, negative TBW correlation (-0.49).
