Identification of precious stones in selected goldsmith works from the radius of Charles IV stored in Austrian collections

Abstract

The ideas on ancient gems were often re-interpreted in the context of Christian iconography after being placed on medieval goldsmith works. The contribution takes into account the current gemological survey conducted by RNDr.
