Abstract
A chapter in a practical manual of clinical psychiatry that covers three groups of the most common anxiety disorders: obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, specific phobias and social phobia. Each of the subchapters includes definition and clinical description of the disorders, epidemiological data, diagnostic criteria, differential diagnosis, course, prognosis, and outcome.
The special emphasize is put on the disorder management and treatment options, including pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. The annexed glossary defines meanings of the most frequent terms
