The Concept of "Patient 0" in Early Modern Medical Writings about Plague

Abstract

The chapter deals with diverse spectrum of medical theories on plague in early modern Latin academic writing. Among other things it discusses historical ideas about initial stages of epidemics - physicians understood introduction of a disease into the local community.
