Own State - Own Currency: Legal continuity of the Czechoslovak and Czech currencies

Abstract

The paper deals with the period of 1918 and the attempt by KarelEngliš to introduce the bills of Zemskábanka as a legal tender under Act No. 49/1918 Coll. In the larger area, the successful monetary reform of AloisRašín, carried out in March 1919, of which one part, called "stamping", was created in 1919 in the Czechoslovak crown.

Further, the basic features of the re-establishment of the Czechoslovak currency in 1945 and the emergence of the Czech currency in 1993 are analyzed by Act No. 60/1993 Coll., On the Department of Currency. The individual stages of the formation of the national currency are compared in terms of continuity and discontinuity of institutional and legal anchoring.
