Comparison of mother and foreign language cultures - one of the basic principles of Russian language teaching in the Czech environment

Abstrakt
The chapter deals with the role and the function of culture acquisition in language education. Based on an analysis of pedagogical documents valid in the Czech Republic and textbook sets used in Czech schools, the work explains the meaning of culture acquisition as an integral part of intercultural communication competence.
A close attention is paid to the reflection of comparing Russian and Czech cultures in the process of teaching Russian in the Czech environment.
