Apparent aphasia is not present or middle-stage Alzheimer's disease

Abstract

The relationship between the degree of dementia and that of aphasia in patients with Alzheimer's disease is evaluated. Results show that aphasia occurs only at later stages of Alzheimer's disease.

Therefore, aphasia is not an appropriate indicator of early stages of the disease, such as in mild cognitive impairment
