Abstract
The Czech legal refulation of civil proceedings has only one possibility of participation of other persons than judges in the decision-making process of the court, namely the involvement of a lay member in the form of a laying judges (Section 36a (1) (a) of Civil Procedure Code). The article deals with the regulation of lay judges in the Czech legal environment and concentrates on the lay judges in a civil proceedings de lege lata and de lege ferenda.
