Abstract

A unique edition of facsimiles of Claudianus's map of the Czech Kingdom and its 6 derivatives are based on the geographic university Edition Monumenta Cartographica Bohemiae. The file introduces an original map kept at the episcopal library in Litoměřice.

The copies from the Münster's Cosmography (1545) and the Czech editions by Zikmund of Púchov (1554) of the Map Collection of the Faculty of Science of Charles University are introduced. A license for the Zaltieri's map of Claudianus type has been found and acquired from the British Library Collections.

Finally, there will be introduced manuscript copies from the 16th century kept in the castle collections of the Kolowrat family in Rychnov nad Kněžnou, then oil painting from the 17th century from the collections of the National Museum and finally Kreibich's copy created by the method of needle pricking from the beginning of the 19th century from the Map Collection of the Faculty of Science of Charles University. Maps facsimile are accompanied by text and detailed map keys in the Czech and English language
