Abstract
Presented publication is a comprehensive work on the diseases of the intestines. It has a well-arranged structure, divided into a general and a special part.
The general part includes genetics, embryology, anatomy and histology, physiology and pathophysiology. The other chapters in the general part deal with intestinal microbiome and in details refer about symptomatology and examination methods.
The special section is divided into diseases of the duodenum, small intestine, cecum and Bauhin's valve, appendix, colon, rectum and anus. Special chapters are dedicated, for example, to ileal states, stomies, intestinal infections, including sexually transmitted, and to parasitic diseases, AIDS, pregnancy, functional disorders, diarrhea and constipation, bleeding and abdominal emergencies.
