Abstract

The article created within the project NAKI II "Heritage of lost landscapes: identification, reconstruction and presentation" (www.zaniklekrajiny.cz) deals with landscape change in Kutná Hora, Kaňk and Sedlec during the last 200 years and its reflection in pictures. Different types of "pictures" are used - comparative photos, veduta, old maps and aerial photos.

The immediate vicinity of Kutná Hora represents a typical post-mountain landscape marked in the past by intense extraction of silver ore. The current land cover and the use of the landscape are completely different.

An increase of forests, orchards, vineyards, buildings and also abandoned land was recorded.
