Abstract

In this article we briefly reviewed recent advance in research of relationship between gut microbiome and host metabolism. Gut microbiome, vastly outnumbering our organism with number of cells and genetic information, is important source of active metabolites and essential substrates.

In recent years many studies focused on influence of gut microbiome on etiopatogenesis of cardiovascular syndrome were published. Their results are promising, and further research focused on mechanisms which uses microbiome to influence our organism and how it participates in etiopatogenesis of metabolic syndrome could discover possible advantages in treatment of this enormous socioeconomical burden.
