Abstract
Leptospirosis is a widespread zoonosis in our widening widths tied mainly to holiday stays in the late summer, professional exposure and floods. Infections are caused by spirochetes related to lues or Lyme borreliosis secreted by the urine of small mammals, especially rodents.
The severity of the disease varies from asymptomatic infections to severe multisystem infections with no significant mortality. The case report of our patient demonstrates the typical two-phase course of the icteric form of leptospirosis, Weil's disease, with an initially unclear epidemiological link.
