Abstract

In this case study we describe a complex therapy of chronic plantar neuro-ischemic ulcer in patient with diabetes mellitus. Modern dressings of moist therapy containing lipido-colloid layer (TLC) were used for wound healing.

The ulcer has healed within 5 month of treatment. According to the development of the wound healing we applied three different dressings: 1) dressing with lipido-colloid layer (TLC) + with content of polyacrylate poly-absorbent fibres UrgoClean, 2) dressing with lipido-colloid layer containing silver (TLC-Ag) + with content of polyacrylate poly-absorbent fibres UrgoClean Ag, 3) dressing with lipido-colloid layer containing sucrose octasulfate (TLC-NOCF) UrgoStart.

These new dressings have been chosen because of previous treatment failure, for antimicrobial efficacy, and simple and convenient application, especially favourable when the dressing is applied by the patient himself.
