The presented publication is aimed at philosophy or social sciences high school teachers, students and didacticians. In the fi rst part of the opening study, the author argues for such conception of high school philosophy education that focuses on the development of students' autonomous philosophical thinking and elaborates philosophical competencies for this purpose.
In the second part of the study, main conceptions within German didactics of philosophy are introduced and its prevailing principles, also suitable for Czech conditions, are pointed out. e texts included in the anthology are divided into three parts: 1) theoretical texts introducing the main conceptions of philosophy education (E. Martens, A.
Rösch, M. Tiedemann etc.), 2) methodical texts focused on specifi c methods developing philosophical thinking (such as thought experiments, philosophical theatre, reading, writing and discussion methods), and 3) a comprehensive text concerning assessment of philosophical thinking, including examples of assessment criteria for diff erent types of tasks (D.
Schmidt, P. von Ru-thendorf ).
