This year it is a hundred years since the establishment of Czechoslovakia. This anniversary of now non-existent state is commemorated intensively.
This has not always been the case, in many periods of our history, the image of our republic has been misinterpreted and distorted in the context of the prevailing social and political conditions at that time. The foundation of the republic had different meanings in 1928, 1938, 1948, or 1968.
It was often perceived differently also in different parts of the country, this was a toll on the coexistence of unequally developed and nationally heterogeneous units forming Czechoslovakia.
