There is a lack of audiovisual emotion stimuli validated for the use in Czech and Slovak population. Because of this, researchers are often forced to invent and validate their own stimuli for the needs of current research, or to draw on foreign databases without prior cultural validation.
Such practices are always time-consuming and threaten the internal validity of the studies. We are introducing the first large Czech Emotion Film Database which will supply emotion researchers with audiovisual stimuli and will facilitate the comparability of emotion studies across laboratories.
The poster will present chosen results to illustrate the kind of information researchers can get from the database to inform their stimuli selection.
