Examining the intertwined intellectual conceptions of landscape in Germany and in Czech Republic, this article discusses the heritage process of tangible and intangible traces left by Czechoslovakian Germans after their forced migration in WWII aftermath. It shows how the renewal of the landscape approach in the late 1990s proposes to depoliticise the memory of post-war displaced Germans and erases the political asperities of their history in the Czech lands
