Abstract
Recommendations or standards of care reflect actual knowledge applicable in diagnostic and treatment procedures. They are established on the evidence-based medicine which brings new data from studies, not only about drug effects.
The practical usage of antidiabetic and other drugs including the treatment algorithms of diabetes is patient oriented, on his/her stage of the disease and the presence of complications and other diseases. Recommendations are the source of professional opinions for physicians, health care insurances, and governmental institutions planning the health care programs.
