Abstract
Hypoglycemia is a common complication of diabetes treatment, which impairs the quality of life and sometimes can be fatal. The review presents novel hypoglycemia classification in diabetes, hypoglycemia manifestation and differential diagnosis.
Moreover, major hypoglycemia risk factors and possible preventive measures are shown. Modern diabetes treatment should minimize the risk of hypoglycemia by choosing of safe antidiabetic drugs, by application of modern technologies and suggesting of rational individual glycemia targets, together with in-depth patient education.
