Boredom in educational settings: theoretical conceptualisations and research methods

Abstract

The aim of the article is to provide an overview of current state of knowledge in the field of boredom in educational settings. Theoretical conceptions that are relevant to the research and practice of educational psychology are presented and possibilities of empirical grasping of boredom in school context are discussed including the overview of relevant diagnostic measures.

Article also concerns the issue of boredom coping at school and directions for future research are outlined.
