Abstract
This is the first detailed introduction of the Doctrina Iacobi, compleed with the translation of some informative passages, to Czech readers. Some problems which the test presents to the interpreters are solved by the author afresh.
The thesis of Olster that the author of the work was inspired by Jewish sources in his presentation of apocalyptic issues is defended. It is furthermore argued that the scenario which counts the Roman Empire as being teared up by the nations implies most probably, even if not wholly certainly, an author writing well after the collapse of the Byzantine rule in the East under the Arab incursion.
