Abstract

The autopsy is an irreplaceable act of determining the cause of death and one of the key means of proof in explaining the circumstances of unclear and suspicious deaths and violent crimes to death leading. A prerequisite for a proper understanding of the judgment and its professional interpretation in favor of a successful investigation is the direct communication between the forensic practitioners carrying out the dissection and the law enforcement authorities dealing with the circumstances of the person's death.

Sharing the information, knowledge and ideas available to both parties, and the opportunity to ask the question and get an answer during an autopsy is a very valuable added value that will allow all stakeholders to identify possible hidden links and move them in the right direction. The fact that this potential for autopsy is not used for many reasons by law enforcement authorities in many cases of suspected or violent deaths is a missed opportunity.
