Sir, It is with great interest that we read the article "Death from hypothermia during a training course under 'extreme conditions': related to two cases" by Perich et al. published in the Journal of Forensic Sciences1. In this article, the authors described two fatalities involving two young officers who died during a training course under "extreme conditions" in the French Alps.

At autopsy, congestive and edematous brain tissue, "pulmonary edema with large pink lesions on the anterior border of the lung associated with a small number of darker lenticular lesions," congestive abdominal organs, and a full bladder were observed in both cases. Histologically, alveolar edema with intra-alveolar hemorrhagic alterations was noticed.

No images showing the "large pink lesions on the anterior border of the lung associated with a small number of darker lenticular lesions" were reported.
